Teen Court
Teen Court consists of well-trained teens acting as prosecuting attorney, defense attorney, bailiff, clerk, and jury to hear real cases of juveniles who have been charged with violating Arkansas law.
Volunteer shadow attorneys are available to assist the teens during trials and Judge Wood presides over the Court.
Teen Court is held at the Courts Building, 1423 Caldwell, Conway, AR 72034.
The Faulkner County Teen Court is a member of the National Youth Court Association.
There are now over 1300 teen courts operating in the United States.
Judge Wood and staff attended the National Youth Court Association training the summer of 2007.
Over 120,000 youth offenders go through a teen court program annually.
Over 110,000 teens volunteer in a teen court program - making teen court the largest youth volunteer program in the country.
The Faulkner County Teen Court is funded through a Juvenile Accountability Block Grant and a generous donation by First State Bank.
