Faulkner County Delinquency Cases:

1.) 1st Appearances

Judge Wood hears Juvenile Delinquency 1st Appearances on every Wednesday morning. If you plan to enter a NOT TRUE PLEA or if you or your client cannot attend, please simply fax a written request for the Judge to enter a not guilty plea and the Judge will enter it on the 1st appearance date and set a Trial date. You will receive a fax of the Order with the Trial date immediately following Court.

If your client intends to plead true, please contact the court for a plea date. 

 

2.) Pre-trials

The Court no longer routinely schedules pre-trials in delinquency proceedings. If you have filed a pre-trial Motion, please notify Ms. Ahlen and request a pre-trial hearing on the motion.

 

3.) Trials

Delinquency trials are usually scheduled for the 4th Wednesday of every month. Trials are scheduled by time, so please notify the court in advance if you have reached a plea agreement or need more than the allotted time.  

 

4.) Probation revocations are typically heard in the afternoons on Mondays and Wednesdays.


FINS Cases:

FINS cases are heard on Monday mornings.  If you need a continuance, please contact the assigned juvenile officer 1st for approval before submitting a request to the Court. If you do not know who the officer is, contact Barbi Venable, the Juvenile Office Administrator. bvenable@faulknercc.org

 

Truancies:

Absent the case involves other pressing issues, the Court holds two Preliminary Truancy Days a semester for all reported truancies. Following each Truancy Day, there will be a set adjudication day for serious offenders. Truancy Court meets once a month at 8:00a.m. for a status check. 

 

Van Buren & Searcy Counties:

On Tuesdays in Van Buren and Searcy Counties, Judge Wood hears Juvenile Delinquency and FINS cases starting at 9:00a.m.
